Discovery Alpacas: Welcome to Discovery Alpacas

We are a small family run business located central of the country in Sheffield. We are just 10 minutes away from the M1 motorway J35.

We 'discovered' the alpaca world quite by accident. My husband regularly passed an alpaca farm near to us and already having a variety of animals suggested we just had a look at them one day. We had just purchased a new Landrover 'Discovery' with 'Alpaca' coloured seats (which inspired the business name) and decided to call in at the farm on our way to Matlock for a day out. We did not make it to Matlock, but instead purchased 2 six month old cute, cuddly female alpacas.

After owning two horses already, I found the alpacas so easy to look after and got the bug to purchase my third, a black pregnant female. We are now devoted to the care and breeding of alpacas and our aim is to breed for quality rather than quantity over the next few years and intend to put our females with some of the best quality stud males.

I have had and am still getting a lot of good help and advice from two very good large breeders and feel confident to give anyone the help or advice they need. I am always able to arrange with these breeders any stock that may be required if I do not yet have the animals available.
